Room Data Sheets SmartTool

RDS (Room Data Sheets) are used to record the information and requirements of every space within a project. They are usually created by the client at the briefing stage (also called architectural programming in the US) of the design process. They may be updated throughout the design process to reflect modifications or to provide more information to the people who are responsible for delivering a project.

The Room Data Sheets SmartTool is an accurate and reliable sheet, view and schedule building tool for building room (or space) sheets of data in the Revit project. The tool can create 3D plans elevations, schedules, and views of rooms or spaces.

The default setting is to utilize the Room Numbering template and Sheet Format determined by the Revit project however, a new sheet name and style can be chosen from the Tool Options tab. You can also click ‘Load Config’ …’ on the toolbar to load previously saved configurations which will replace the current settings. This reduces the amount manual work required to change the settings for different room types and sizes.

In the ‘Naming: tab, the user can choose whether to include the selected room/space name in the sheet’s ‘Sheet Name text box that is located on the left of the screen. The ‘View Title’ option specifies what text appears in the title bar for each view. View Increment is how many increments there are between each view on the sheet.
